AnotationThe tendency of the Czech prison system is to develop opportunities for the education of convicted people. Education can have the potential to support the reintegration of convicted people into society, increasing their sense of empowerment and motivation to reduce recidivism. It is an important entry factor for post-penitentiary care, one of the social work`s areas. The process of responsibilisation is associated with the imprisonment, which expects a person's internal motivation and the assumption of personal responsibility. Convicted people are, in the eyes of social work, involuntary clients whose motivation for change, especially for education is interpreted as low. We consider experiential knowledge to be an important source of knowledge in social work, therefore we will be interested in the importance attached to education by convicted people in connection with their stay in prison and their return to society. We will use a qualitative research strategy to investigate.
