Projects and grants

The Faculty of Social Studies is involved in both basic and applied research addressing current social issues, generating outputs that are directly applicable in social work (including social work in the health care sector) and social policy. The Faculty conducts contractual research as part of projects run either at the level of the Faculty or the University as a whole; this research not only generates practical outputs, but also helps to develop the theoretical basis and research methodology of social work studies and related disciplines.

The Faculty is firmly rooted in the Ostrava region, and it plays an active role in driving forward the transformation of local communities. A central part of this process is the practical application of the Faculty’s research results to address health-related and social issues in Ostrava and the wider region.
