Who are we, and with whom do we work?

The Retirement Home Korýtko is located in Ostrava–Zábřeh in the gorgeous surroundings of the Odra river basin. The home has a capacity of 257 residents and provides two residential social services, the Retirement Home with a capacity of 192 residents and the Assisted Living Home with a capacity of 65 residents.

The founder of Retirement Home Korýtko, public service company, is the City of Ostrava.

What do we offer to our clients?

Retirement home:

It provides a residential social service for the elderly who cannot take care of themselves due to their reduced self-sufficiency, and when the necessary support or home care is no longer sufficient.

Retirement Home with a special regime:

The mission of the Special Regime Home is to provide residential social services to people who can no longer stay in their natural home environment because of memory problems (Alzheimer's disease, other types of dementia).

The home residents can take part in various leisure-time activities in the home (singing, yoga, bingo, ball exercises, memory training, bowling). They can also attend Holy Mass, attend leisure-time workshops or relax in the phototherapy room. Also, we organize many social events in the home to celebrate various occasions, discussions and lectures. We go on trips, residents can cook, bake, and participate in crafts, etc.

Student internships

During their internship, students will gain hands-on experience with the provided services, and participate in leisure-time, social, and social therapeutic activities. With the consent of the applicant or client, they may be present during social inquiries of a client's situation, negotiating social service contracts, drawing up individual service plans, and help with administration.

The internship must be arranged in advance, either in person, by phone or e-mail. Before commencing the internship, we require an Agreement on Student Field Internship, Confidentiality Statement, and Occupational Safety Training.
