| Anotation | The project focuses on the epistemic and social foundations of trust in the information practices of clients within the context of field-based social work. In environments of structural disadvantage characterized by informational uncertainty, limited access to reliable sources, and power asymmetries between clients and institutions - trust becomes a key mechanism shaping the ways information is received, shared, verified, and interpreted. The aim of the project is to identify and analyze the pillars of trust and distrust in informational processes, primarily from the perspective of clients, but also of field workers who mediate these processes. The research will examine factors that foster or undermine trust (e.g., relational dynamics, institutional conditions, experiences of marginalization or stigmatization) and how these factors influence information strategies in everyday practice. The project will contribute to a deeper theoretical understanding of information practices in socially disadvantaged contexts through the lens of trust as a socially and relationally grounded epistemic phenomenon. The findings may support the development of more effective approaches in field social work, including the advancement of information literacy, critical thinking, communication, and interventions that reflect the epistemic needs and lived experiences of clients. |
