The Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for filling the position of

  • Researcher – foreign expert – excellent in the project "Social dimension of new technologies in the energy sector in the Ostrava metropolitan area"

The above mentioned position is to be filled within the framework of the project "The Social Dimension of New Technologies in the Energy Sector in the Ostrava Metropolitan Area" (reg. no. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0008591), research topic No. 2: Impacts and solutions to energy poverty of the most vulnerable population groups in the Ostrava Metropolitan Area.

  • 1 vacancy at 0.4 FTE (or by agreement)

Employment contract

  • Fixed-term, i.e. until 30 April 2026 (with an expected extension for the duration of the project until 31 December 2028)

Wage conditions

  • according to the current OU wage regulation

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent degree in social sciences or other research field, provided that there is active interdisciplinary cooperation on social science topics;
  • professional publications (Scopus, WoS) with a high citation rate (H-index min. 8);
  • a researcher who has been working outside the Czech Republic for at least 2 years during the last 5 years (on the date of commencement of work activity in the project team) in the field of research for a minimum of 0.5 FTE, or has been a Ph.D. student for at least 2 years during the last 5 years outside the Czech Republic;
  • English level min. B2;
  • prerequisites for the development of independent scientific research activity.

Job description

  • Coordination of international comparison to address fuel poverty among vulnerable social work populations;
  • contribution to publication outputs;
  • Contribution to the presentation of lectures presented on energy poverty in the context of social work contributing to its reduction.
