The subject provides students with a comprehensive view of the psychosocial perspectives of living with a visible difference (e.g., disfigurement, burns, craniofacial conditions). The main goal is to understand the impact of appearance-related stigma and to learn about the possibilities of supporting these individuals and advocating for Face Equality. Students will acquire theoretical knowledge, but also practical communication skills for working with clients through discussions and case studies. Emphasis is placed on a human rights approach and challenging societal beauty norms.
