The course introduces students to the complex issues of homelessness and housing emergencies in the European and Czech context. The topic is viewed through the political framework and systemic settings of the state. Emphasis is placed on prevention mechanisms and the practical functioning of social services.
Field trips are an integral part of the course, serving as a basis for critical discussion about the role of social work and the interaction between key actors (state administration, local government, the non-profit sector, and households in housing crisis).
