AnotationThe proposed student project deals with an unexplored topic, and that is the creation of a media image in the context of social work. Social work is a multi-disciplinary field that arouses both positive and negative emotions in society. The media have the opportunity, and sometimes the possible obligation, to inform the public about people as clients of social work, or about social services or social work. At the same time, the media have an influence on the creation of the social world and the power to shape public discourse, how people see the world, but also what position they have in it, what is considered controversial and what is normal and even unquestionable. (Richardson, 2007). The main objective of the research is to understand the media image of people as clients of social work in two different media selected from the historical context from the category of "old media", i.e. the periodical press. In the context of the above, the project will contribute to the analysis and mapping of the creation of the media image of people as clients of social work and will provide specific outputs applicable to the practice and education of social workers, which will be focused on recommendations for social workers on how to communicate with the media and participate in the creation of the media image of people.
